Notes on Installing Toolbar
Firefox Browser

The installation link will enable you to download a file mlfhs.xpi

The .xpi file is basically a ZIP file that, when opened by the browser utility, installs a browser extension.

To install a local version of the file, you can drag and drop the file onto an open Firefox browser window or use the Firefox File | Open menu command.

You may need to re-start your browser after installation.

Google Chrome Browser

The installation will proceed automatically.

This version is only compatible with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Once installed, the toolbar will only display when the browser displays a web page. It will not display when you open a new tab. If you have set the browser home page to 'Use the New Tab Page' you will not see the toolbar until you navigate to a web page. If you want the toolbar to display immediately, select Tools (spanner symbol) - Options and in the 'Homepage' section select 'Open this Page:'. Type a home page address in the box (why not www.mlfhs.org.uk) and close the tab.
